Grow Your Own Illinois is charged with disseminating up-to-date information on the Illinois Grow Your Own Teachers initiative and with providing help to anyone who seeks to develop or participate in such a program. OER Associates, under a contract from GYO Illinois, has just issued the first in a planned series of studies on Grow Your Own Teachers graduates' experiences as teachers. This study highlights the extraordinary strengths of the graduates in the sample, and also points to some areas where their preparation could be improved.

GYO Illinois has prepared a brief handbook to help Grow Your Own projects develop fundraising strategies for the additional costs of their programs. The guide includes strategies for organizing the effort, a survey of the major types of funders, suggestions for specific requests that could be fundable, and various technical resources.
