Save the Date: The Statewide Learning Network Conference in Chicago, November 19-20, 2009!

At the end of a tumultuous but productive year for Grow Your Own Teachers in Illinois, we are planning a Statewide Learning Network meeting that has the potential to be the best ever! Here are some highlights:

• Linda Darling-Hammond, Stanford University Professor, chief consultant on education to the Obama campaign, and one of the most widely respective educational researchers and thinkers in the country, will lead off our conference with a presentation about her research into teacher effectiveness and teacher preparation.
• In honor of Dr. Darling-Hammond's work, we are planning to make teacher quality the central theme of this year's conference.
• We have a whole new venue this year, thanks to National Louis University - a larger, and more centrally located facility in their downtown campus.
